Wendy Lee -> Wendy Lee

It's a good song! Simple and easy to sing along - hey, that's country music and it has to be that way - so far so good!

You could retouch a few things and make this track even more powerful!
As you say (about the song), "it's an inspiring story" - Bingo!
People love stories! It is your winning card - the story! Where is its highest point? In the Chorus. All you have to do here is:
Repeat the Chorus, repeat the Chorus and then repeat it again.

One thing you don't need, is the guitar part after the first Chorus. It is OK up to the vocal - start the Verse right after that.

Also, in order to establish a stronger presence of the Chorus, you could add some more instruments - another guitar, a tambourine should work just fine here. Give it a try. Guitar in chords while singing and some melodic themes between the phrases. That will make the Chorus more complete and impressive.

And again, instead of finishing with the "whoo" vocals, you should repeat the Chorus at the end - two or three times is fine.

Where the Pan Flute came from at the end?
It is nice - the way you use it. But adding a new instrument at the end of the song is not nice. There's no reason for doing so!

You could use it, instead, since the beginning, or during the Verse or Chorus (which will add a particular color to that part), and finish with the Chorus - without the fade out - for a greater dynamic and emotional effect.

And don't be afraid of repeating it. It's a good one and the listener has to remember it.

Good Luck,
Anton Tontchev
