Oz -> OZ

The song is characterized by involving Lyrics, feelings and mood, which are enhanced by the performance!

All of the above have a personal touch that makes this track intense.

Although the structure and arrangement are simple, there are some quite interesting parts that show an intriguing thought and musicianship.

Since the beginning, there are elements that really stand out:
- flute motif (I'm not sure it is a flute, but it is what I hear after the compression) in Chorus accompanying the melody;
- guitar part;
- vocals adding accent to every first beat.

The "flute" melody is noticeable. It is an exotic nuance of the main melody in Chorus, and a very well performed idea! When combined with the guitar, the sound adds a folk/jazz color, which fits adequately the overall sonority.

The guitar part is characteristic of the style and expands the rhythmic movement of the funky beat. Good work!

Since the song structure and arrangement are rather simple, it is Chorus and Verse, there's a need for some ingredient that will make the track more appealing dynamically. On this purpose, some features can be easily changed, others added or subtracted:

- The "flute" is OK on Chorus, but during the Verse its part could be different. Instead of repeating the vocal melody there, it could simply play some notes of the harmony, or alternatively, switch part with the first beat vocal ("woah" voice). That would bring a new color to the sound.
- The above accented beat vocal, ("woah"), is not needed during the Verse! It is ear-catching on Chorus, but it can be even more characteristic if used only there. This way the dynamic strength of the Chorus will further increase.
- The drums section is basically on target, but you'd better off simplify some parts. That is: simplify the breaks that occur between some 8 measure blocks. The way they are now reminds a rock rhythm, but it isn't a rock song.

Also, the Chorus is composed of four 8 measure phrases that are almost identical. For some reason the drums in the middle 2 phrases differ slightly from the first and the forth ones. The Ride Bell or Cymbal is not the best choice there - because of its sound, part, and position. Actually that part is not needed. Keep the rhythm clear and concise and the song will adhere even more strongly to the style!

Overall, there are good ideas and thoughts. However, for a radiofriendly/commercial sound, better recording is definitely needed. Working in a studio would help the performance also. The emotional intensity combined with the precision of execution, which can be achieved in a recording room, will further increase the song's mass appeal.

Keep up the good work, and Good Luck!
