Its mass appeal makes you feel familiar with every line of the
profound lyrics, makes you find personal meaning in every word.
It is the kind of song you'd hear on "smooth jazz" radio
stations. It is the kind of song that would make soundtrack of Disney's
movies, or many family-romance genre movies would look for! The
track is saturated with emotions that reach the heart and stay there
after the final chords fade away.
A few technical thoughts on "Best Friend":
1. Overall sound reminds slightly the 80's due to the synth instruments,
but is still suitable for a smooth jazz radio format/soundtrack
purpose;
2. Choir moments like "we stay together" and "I
still choose you" bring some scent of gospel, which is very
pleasant, but could be avoided if the radio stations are targeted
instead of the big screen.
3. On bridge end "
love you, love you" vocal needs
the support of background, and why not dubbing, instruments/vocals.
These last measures of the Bridge are one of the strongest moments
in the song. They have the potential of a really powerful culmination.
Just support them with instruments and/or vocals.
Great work! It is enjoyable from title to the last note!
