"One (such) release I've received was from a Swedish
act called Swedish Whistler. I am assuming they don't
want to confuse themselves with the American Whistler.
Although you don't get much from the name, the band offers
up a nice modern spin on early 80's female new wave types
such as Spider, Scandal, and Pearl Harbor. They've got
the layered soaring vocals, the punchy riffs, and the
punky 'tude. It's their power ballad that lured me in

The radioshow The Alternative Music Show aired five tracks
from the Syd tribute "Lets Try It Another Way ".
Swedish WHISTLERs Effervescing Elephant was one of these

Mark Zampino, the producer of "Lets Try It Another
Way", working on a Pink Floyd pre-dark side of the
moon tribute. "Crying Song" from the album "More"
is taken by Swedish WHISTLER Duo.
