In 2003, the album "Butterfly Girl" debuted on the scene and captured the attention of many with its quirky and erotic alternative pop songs. Moonlyn is the creative force behind it all. A Canadian native with natural talent, she is self-managed and carves her own path with confidence. She does things her way with determination, yet emits a certain charm that keeps many coming back again and again. Always busy, Moonlyn makes time to help others. Most of her live performances have revolved around a charitable cause. Moonlyn's moxie is defined by her desire to give more than just her music - she gives a piece of her hart with everything she does.

Born in Toronto under a full moon and during a terrible snow storm, Moonlyn blew into this world with a driving force. She discovered many talents at young age - her paintings and writing drew attention before she started high school. She always followed her heart's desire.

Music remained a large part of Moonlyn's life even while she studied at an art institute. She played drums and wrote lyrics for a local punk band. Later she went on to sing back up vocals in various gothic bands. She enjoyed being around creative people with artistic minds.

The "Butterfly Girl" in her emerged when she touched a piano. The magic came true! She started writing music and in 3 months was able to complete 20 songs. At this point the "Canadian Music Industry Guide" came in help and she found a kindred spirit - Bryant Didier, the producer of B. Musique recording studio.

Before long, production of Butterfly Girl was underway. Moonlyn re-recorded her vocals, but only added a few finishing touches to her original musical recordings. Musician and producer completed the album in a couple of months.

Since after its release, "Butterfly Girl" became a success. Besides the lack of big record label style marketing, word of mouth has created a diverse fan base that reaches beyond Canada's borders. Despite the miles that separate her fans, they all have something in common: they are drawn to and captivated by a unique young woman with natural talent!

About the video:
There are no bounds to Moonlyn's independence and creativity as she directed the video herself. Shot in Detroit Michigan in the summer of 2003, Moonlyn saw her vision metamorphosed from a doodle in her notepad to a reality - from sketch to screen.
